with good food, life's great...

Kuching is a food heaven... western food, chinese cuisine, local delights... you name it... there're everywhere, and they're good~~

while I was doin' my final year in Toowoomba, Queensland, other than missing my family and my car, I missed Kuching food dearly, typically laksa, BBQ fish (sting-ray), kolo-mee, Malaysian-styled chicken rice and kueh-chap just to name a few...

so, this entry of mine today is all about food... with pictures of course...

let's go with starters first... this is "Zheng" with kolo-mee kosong... notice the kolo-mee at the upper right corner?? yeap... this bowl consist of meat balls, "Char Siew" (BBQ pork), pig's spare-parts, salted vege, taugeh (beans sprout) and very nice soup to complement with...

laksa... typical breakfast choice of most Kuching people. check out those prawns... and believe me, this particular serving from Golden Arch is freaking spicy...

ahhh... belacan beehoon... the best of belacan beehon can be found at the Song Thian Hai market and behind the Sarawak Musuem. like the Hong Kong "chou tau fu" (stinky tofu), you can smell it from the parking space...

this picture was taken at one of the many stalls in the Kuching Festival 2005... if you look closely, there were steamed, friend & roasted chicken, "Siew Yok" (BBQ pork with fat & skin), "Char Siew" (BBQ pork), "Lap Chiong" (BBQ chinese style sausage), "Ngo Hiang" (rolled minced meat with other stuff)... phew~~ everything looks mouth watering and tempting... I ask you lahh... how to choose what you want?? in the end.. HAMPALANG-SAPU... hahahaha...

I know that some of you are already drooling and flooding your keyboards, but there are more to come... hehehehe...

these are taiwanese sausages, seasoned with different favours - original, spicy, satey...
knn these wicked sausages were virtually calling up to me: "we're very tasty!!! buy me!!! eat me!!!...." dem evil they were!!!

Siew Mai (steamed pork)... tasty huh?? the most famous Siew Mai stall is located at the Open Air market down town Kuching... you won't miss it, as it's usually crowded with people...

typical fish & chips... but this one is grilled to perfection... delicious I assure you... *slurp* (location: Sharing Planet)

medium done sirloin steak... my all time favourite... (location: The Junk)

nicely done chicken chop, covered with think mushroom gravy and smooth mashed potato & vege at the side... scrumptious!!! (location: Sidewalk)

and ultimately... what's better than having a glass of cold ice lemon tea with some ciggies after a heavy meal... right people???
