sighh~...... NOT AGAIN~!!

was dem busy for the past 2 weeks working on my industry report... and finally got it done yesterday... so now I'm gonna be quite free for a while... hehehehehe...

the only vivid incident that happened was that I hit a Mercedes on a Friday night... and it wasn't even my fault... KNNCCB!!!

it was a double lane road, and I was goin' slow behind the Merc on the right lane. out of nowhere, this stupid motorbike rider on the left lane fell, and the wira behind him swerved to the right to avoid the rider, cutting in front of the Merc and almost hit it... the Merc emergency braked, I did the same, but somehow my tyres locked up, and I skidded into the Merc's bumper.... "BBOOooooopp!!!..."

damage wasn't that bad thou... the Merc's bumper was dem tough I tell you, only some scratches and a slight crack... but mine was abit more serious... the right headlight was shattered, bonnet and bumper dented... paid the owner of the Merc RM200 for the damage caused after estimating it at his workshop (apparently he only got his car newly sprayed a week ago, so got some leftover paint...).

I'm won't repair my car for the time being (partly also due to my freaking dead broke situation)... so if you guys out there see a waja with a shattered right headlight and a dented bonnet and bumper, well that's my poor ride now...

I'll leave the car as it is until the end of the year when I could save up enough money to get it repaired, plus a new coat of paint (the same silver metalic paint). also I'll add in a full set of body kit, with the current rear spoiler taken down. then I'll change my dying absorbers with adjustable ones so that my car could be lowered, thus having more stability and better road handling...

estimated damage to my wallet - RM2700

September 8...

I officially turned 24 yesterday... the good thing was that I got presents, and the bad thing is that I'm edging closer to being quarter of a century old :(

didn't take leave yesterday, and went to work as usual. however, before I went out, mom cooked me 2 eggs and some noodles for the birthday thingy (some chinese tradition lahh), and my parents each gave me a really big ang-pow (red packet) hehehehehehe...

darling gave me a ciggie holder & a DVD as my present... and I got dozens of messages and emails from friends sending me their birthday greetings, which I was quite touched that they remembered my birthday... (also have to give credits to those Friendster.com kindda websites coz they have birthday reminders...)

sis called and asked me what I want for my birthday... and I said: "anything will do lah... I don't have anything specific in my mind yet...." I just hope that she doesn't buy me another shirt, because shirts were her choice of present for me since 2 years ago...

dinner was good... mom prepared chicken, bbq pork, campbell soup and mashed potatoes. enjoyed dinner alot, and by the time I was done, I could hardly breath...

later in the night, went out for a drink at Memories Cafe with darling & gang, and got a call from Johnathan, asking us to go for supper. he ordered the super kolo mee (also known as turbo), and I had one hell of a hard time finishing it... dem that bugger even challenged me to finish both the soup and drinks... which when done, I almost puked... knn...

something new in my shopping list...

went into the Sony showroom to look at this new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T5 model after it caught my eyes when I was browsing through today's morning papers...

There were 4 colours to choose from (see picture below), and I particularly love the black one...

silver, black, gold and red...

the T5 appeals much to me as it offers a whooping 2.5" LCD display, shoots decent pictures via its 5.1 megapixel Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens and it is compact & thin enough for me to bring it along all the time...

it is priced at RM1,469.00, and I could purchase it via a 12-months installment plan (that means I'd have to pay approximately RM122.50 per month... quite reasonable I think...) using a Standard Chartered credit card, and I think I'll apply one soon... as the bank is currently having a promotion for its credit cards which have imprints of Looney Tunes characters (Bugs Buny, Tweety Bird & Tazmania Devil) as well as Batman.

*just some thought....*

some people like bigger cameras, claiming that the bigger ones capture better quality pictures, offers better options and that they could upgrade the lenses and bla bla bla never ending reasons for buying the bulkier cameras... but sometimes I wonder if they actually knew and make full use of the funtions and configurations of their cameras... because at the end of the day, I notice that most of them just set their cameras to "Auto" mode and start snapping away regardless of the lightings, angles and conditions...

just like handphones... lots of people nowadays tend to upgrade their handphones from time to time... insisting to buy phones with the latest megapixel camera + flash, huge memory capabilities with expansion slots, high resolution TFT displays, PDA functionalities, 3G, Bluetooth, EDGE, MMS, EMS and GPRS functions enabled bla bla bla... but in actual fact, what they forget is that 90% of the time when they flash out their fully loaded expensive handphones, what they would mostly do are just answering/making calls and sms-ing... so think about it... why spend all those money on a fancy handphone when all you need is basic functionalities??

Fujiwara Tofu Shop in Kuching...

was driving darling home when we noticed this car...

WTF!!!! Fujiwara Tofu Shop on a stupid Kancil??!! sommore driven by some dungu looking female ninja turtle... aduhhh... it's really an eyesore to see man...

a closer snap at this "buey siaw li" (dunno what is embarrassment) owner... if this cunt-cil can drift... I'll shave my head and a become monk... knnccb!!! really a disgrace lahh...

like this baru correct mah... dun lah simply stick stupid stickers on your car...

I hate it when for instance people driving Hondas, but have stickers with Nismo or Rally Art wordings on their cars... it just shows that they are plain idiots who don't even know that Nismo is the tuning arm of Nissan and Rally Art is the tuning arm of Mitsubishi... and of course those driving plotongs that have Mugen or Tuned by RAZO wordings on their rides... really stupidity at its peak man!!! duhh~~!!!!!!

Merdeka eve hangout...

was hanging out at this new pub named MC3 earlier in the night, but my eyes were dem watery and "spicy" due to all those ciggie smoke (including mine lahh...) because MC3 didn't have good ventilation, and was pretty stuffy... plus with lousy air-conditioning... the place actually was "shooo-ing people away"... sigh... nice settings and renovations though...

the bar is placed in the middle of the club, with high stools around it, 2 plasma TVs at the sides, 2 laser projectors, and tables & chairs along the mirrored walls.

picture taken with flash. this is John's uncle, who also dropped by for some fun. don't see him blur blur "sap ha sap ha" I tell you... he's the few famous god of beer/liqour in Kuching... and lotsa ppl there were greeting him/saying "hi hi" and of course, treating him with a few shots...

ah-J, ah-Drek & ah-Con

me holding da camera...

darling & I... so long din't take pictures together liaw... :)

and since MC3 wasn't much to our likings (the music there also kindda sucked lahh...), we went over to City Jungle, a few lots away...

John, his wife-to-be Ana (they're gonna get married next week... congrats!!!) and ah-Khoon (remember John's uncle??) were already there and booked a long table just outside the pub.

we settled out asses down, and there came a bottle of Johnny Walker, soft drinks, mugs and a bucket of ice. ah-Con, ah-Khoon and John then started becoming bar tenders, pouring whisky + green tea/coke + ice to all our mugs... dem they were happy doin' that...

"good or not?? not strong enough?? nevermind~ come come I pour for you again!!! hahahahahaha!!!...."

that was only the first bottle of whisky, as later in the night, another one was ordered... these guys were crazy man!!! I REPEAT... CRAZYYYY ones... especially ah-Khoon... kept on asking ppl to drink... and guess what happened in the end??? I puked my guts out 2 times... yeapss... TWO freaking times... knn... #*&@$$)**&%...

dem happy this ah-J... laughing himself away... *must be thinking of someone...*

however, the night was a very nice and memorable one (too bad the camera's batteries died... so din't get to take the wilder session of the night...). everyone enjoyed themselves. there were dancing, puffing, cheering (YAM-SENG-ing), trash talking, puking (hemmphh!!!) and of course drinking... everyone got home safely, and I din't wake up till noon the next day...

my ciplak CD burner has gone to burners' Heaven...

was burning another CD-R yesterday afternoon when my ciplak-brand (CyberDrive actually) CD burner decided to call it quits, with the LED kept blinking despite the fact that I have clicked on the burn button, and the whole process just got hanged... I restarted the computer, but still the burner could not eject the blank CD, and after testing my patience, which was pretty short btw... got forced open using a screwdriver, and there was it... the burner was "certified" dead... on MERDEKA DAY sommore... knn!!!

however, credit must be given to this burner of mine. it was bought on March 2003 for less than RM200, and has certainly served me well for almost 2.5 years without much burning errors. plus, throughout its lifespan, it has produced at least 10 rims of CD-Rs, which totaled to more than 1,000... sommore has helped me earned more than RM2,000 of extra income on CD sales that I do on a part time basis... *winks*

needing a replacement a.s.a.p, and since it's a holiday, I called up Ah-J, and went over to Kuching's version of Low Yat Plaza - Wisma Saberkas to do some quick research and after that, get a new burner of course... hehehehe...

went to 3 shops to get an insight of the price range for CD burners and DVD burners. surprisingly, a Sony CD burner cost less than RM100, and a typical branded DVD burner, for instance LG, Pioneer, LiteON, BenQ and Samsung was priced from RM200 - RM350, which was reasonably cheap...

after comfirming that this particular shop - 3E offers the best deal, we went straight it. I remembered reading from some tech magazines stating that BenQ produces some of the best dual layer DVD burners, so in the end, I decided on getting myself this - a BenQ DW1640. this burner set me back by RM220, but that's the best deal we've seen, as other shops were selling it at RM250 or more.

I was pretty satisfied with the purchase, and got home later to get it installed. the installation was very much standard procedure, and I got it running in about 15 minutes. din't burn any DVDs yet, and only tried a CD-R, which came out puuurfect... hehehehe...
