Ciggie Review - Hero

Opened up the first of 3 cigarettes brought back from Vietnam this afternoon when I went out for lunch with a friend. The packing of the cigarettes is average at best, and so were the cigarettes...

I lit up one... tasted like the normal local Dunhill Red... quite strong... which is fine by me though I prefer Menthols or Lights. However, it felt more like a sub-standard product compared to Dunhill. I didn't ask how much was that pack of Hero cigarettes as the cigarettes were somewhat my CNY gift... :)

ciggies all the way from Vietnam...

My usual ciggies-from-other-countries supplier went to Vietnam for holidays during the recent Chinese New Year to sort of avoid the Kuching CNY visiting and all. Like always, she bought me local ciggies...

I have not tried any of them yet, so will review each of them after I'm done burning them up... :)

ESSE Lights

Jet Cigarettes... funny name...

Hero... hmmm... lidat oso can??

lastly, a group photo of the Vietnam ciggies...

I think I'll start with burning Hero first...

*Click picture for larger view*

It only took 5 working days for the transaction to go through, and my account was credited with RM1055.41, the conversion rate being 3.257, not too bad laaa...

now you'd probably know what did I spend on with the extra cash huh??

yeap, spent it on getting the Seiko Chronograph, thanks to all the paid posts that I wrote in my blog all these while..... :)

HP Pavillion Entertainment PC for sale... after 4 months...

remember when I blogged about Jo's newly bought HP Pavillion Entertainment PC some 4 months ago (November 2007)??

well, despite the fact that the Tablet PC being a pretty good all rounder, she finds it still somewhat heavy (only 1.9kg) when she goes outstation, so she is now wanting to sell it off at RM3000, and go for the smaller ones - those with 10 inch LCD displays. The notebook was bought for RM4.2k four months ago, and it is seriously under utilized... meaning to say it's practically still very very new.

Basically, it is running on AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-58 (1.90 GHz, 512KB + 512KB L2 Cache) with 2GB of RAM, 160GB of Hardisk, Dual-Layer DVD Burner, Window Vista Home, together with many other stuff like remote control and etc. It's a touch screen by the way...

anyone who's interested on getting the HP Pavillion, do leave me a comment with your email address, and we could go into details regarding this.

Many Thanks!

it's either the Seiko or the Tissot

before I actually bought my Seiko Chronograph, I was in a dilemma on whether to get that one or the Tissot PRC 200...

Well, if you were me, which one will you go for??

Seiko Chronograph (SNAB53P1) or Tissot PRC 200 (T17.1.586.52)???

For your information, the price that I got for the Seiko was RM800 while the Tissot is selling at RM1000, after major discount of course...

Anyhow, I took another snapshot of the Seiko a few minutes ago... :)

tried out the broasted chicken@Chicago 7

went over to the newly opened Chicago 7 located at the 3rd mile traffic light junction (the old Maybank branch) to try out their broasted chicken. I ordered 3 pieces of broasted chicken, takeaway.

very similar to that of KFC packaging lor...

3 piece chicken cost RM8.70, which is somewhat cheaper compared with RM8.98 from KFC. taste wise, I think the broasted chicken here is not as dry as the KFC ones on the opposite side of the road.

I'll surely come back for more...

bought a new Seiko Chronograph...

I decided to get myself the Seiko Chronograph (SNAB53P1) over the Tissot PRC200, so last Friday I went to my usual watch dealer - Ocean Watch at Tun Jugah Tower and bought it.

The Seiko box...

Seiko Chronograph. The entire watch is black ion coated. Jo said that it's pretty unique and cool while KY mentioned that it looked wicked. I can't agree more... :)))

Ah Wei's wedding attended...

it seems that there are gonna be a lot of couples getting married this year, starting with my secondary school mate - Ah Wei yesterday. us brothers were told about the date earlier this year, so many of them who are working in other places managed to get back for his big day.

we started drinking beer even before the dinner started. it was also sort of a new year gathering amongst us old friends...

I couldn't make it to the morning routine of accompanying the bridegroom to fetch the bride, so many many apologies there. Missed plenty of drama and hilarious acts before the brothers gang manage to help Ah Wei get to his lady, as I was told during dinner.... -____-'

then came the food... there were more than enough to feed us 8 men + 2 ladies...

a compulsory group photo of us buddies... too bad a few more had to leave early due to other appointments...

and guess what... the car plate number of the Mercedes used for the wedding - which was 8888 actually came out as Magnum4D's consolation prize (RM60) yesterday night, and ironically none of us, including Ah Wei's dad bought the number... -_____-'

Starbucks@The Spring

took a few days leave before CNY, so went over to The Spring in the morning to ease our caffeine addiction at Starbucks. There weren't much people as it was still a working day...

Starbucks is located at the left side of the main entrance of The Spring...

while Secret Recipe is at the right side of the main entrance...

my ice-blended caramel latte, and Alex's ice green tea latte...

it's nice sitting outside having our drinks, being able to light up, use the free WIFI and constantly feeling the cool air-cond breeze from inside the shopping mall when the automatic main door opens for incoming/outgoing shoppers.

rear disc brakes repaired before CNY

my rear disc brakes have been giving out this weird irritating sound whenever I step on the brakes while reversing, and knowing that the rear disc brakes needed trimming due to uneven surface, like what happened to the front disc brakes a year ago, again I went to the workshop to get the problem fixed.

before that, I went over to my usual spare part shop to purchase a set of better brake pads (both front and rear) as well... those with less brake dust...

the workshop guys took out the rear discs first... and sent them for trimming...

then they change the front brake pads...

fixing the rear brake calipers in place was the worst part as it took the longest time... and I waited close to 3 hours at the workshop.... but I guess it was worth it as now the problem is fixed, and there is no longer irritating sound while braking the car anymore... :)

total damage: RM220

a typical food post...

I'll start off with the Fried Rice the I had a while ago at
Monster Tongue. Price was around RM5, which is reasonably cheap considering the air-conditioned environment + and puff...

Then came Thongs' Burger King all the way from KL during the first day of Chinese New Year for Hedo and me, 2 Swiss Mushrooms each... hehehehe... many many thanks!!!
I can't tell you how much I miss
Burger King lar... that damn Spring should have open up one instead of the stupid Chicken Rice Shop and Sushi King... -____-'

went for dinner at Hilton Steak House AGAIN... yea I suppose you guys already damn sien & boring looking at pictures of my sirloins or rib-eyes or t-bone... but I'm going to put it up anyhow just to piss you guys off... hahahahaha...

this is called Sorbet... didn't know what it was at first, so ordered it for dessert. asked for the orange favour, and it turned out to be somewhat a fusion of fruit favor + ice.. not too bad lar...

last week (I think), got this Patchi chocolate thingy from Jo when we went to watch CJ7.
*damn stiupid but still can make us laugh movie....*

on the side note, Star Cineplex must be feeling the heat as Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) is opening at The Spring soon, and another cinema (not sure which one) will also be opening up at Boulevard. That's why we were surprise when they changed the old ticketing system, where you select your seat from a pathetic piece of paper showing theater seats to a computerized ticketing system. I foresee that soon, Star Cineplex will do renovation works on the entire cinema hoping to retain their cinema goers...

verdict: monopolization is bad for growth, and consumers get peanut... competition, on the other hand is good... :)))

ok, back to the chocolate - apparently it's some expensive stuff brought back from *dunno where*... pretty good I should say... not too sweet, just nice.... and I was really surprise that despite leaving it in the car for the whole night, it didn't even melt a bit when I got home and ate it...

*hehehe... this time I remembered to take photos before chucking it into my mouth...*

naughty Leo... (he's a Peking-Shih Tzu mix btw)

I kid you not people... you think this Ah-Leo kiut kiut lidat then wanna pat him... hehehe... if he no-like you, then habis lah kena biten... :)))

I've seen first hand one of her friends jumped onto the sofa on his way to the washroom, when halfway Ah-Leo came barking and running towards him... all the marcho-ness kena flushed down the drain... ~haihh~

but I think he's gay coz he kept on trying to hump my hand when I pat him.... apalar..... -____-'

*should have dragged the gay fartmachine along that day...*

Jase's Tea Room

one of the newer hangout place amongst us friends recently is Jase's Tea Room.

It's on the 1st floor of * forgot building name*, facing Jalan Tun Jugah (the one on the way to the Kuching Airport) just opposite the Isuzu/Suzuki/Perodua showroom. *refer to business card above*

ambience is soothing...

with seats of your choice - normal coffee table/seats, bar stools and ala-Friends couches... some more got free WIFI...

beverages are priced reasonably, tasted pretty good... and when you accumulated 10 chops (1 for every drinks purchased), you next order on drinks is free...

BUT... the best part is - despite the fact that it's air-conditioned, smoking is allowed...

so, on any humid nights, going there would be a great choice as we don't have to sweat it out at the kopitiams or Star Bucks for our caffeine addictions, and light up at the same time... :)))
