assorted snapshots III (Christmas mood)

bought this Christmas tree ginger bread cookie from my colleague... the money collected would be donated to the Cheshire Home and the blind centre...

these are good champagne stuff...

@Silhuotte, Spring...

and Hedo bought this Absolut 100 back for me from her Aussie trip... would probably open it for tonight's post-Christmas-Friday night party or New Year Eve party next week... hehehe...

and I got wasted on the Christmas Eve party@Soho (1st floor) btw after downing *dunno how much* Macallan + Absolut Vodka... my buddies had to wake me up when Soho was closing, which was way past 2am... wtf... -______-''

Birthday Bash@Terminal ONE

it was one of my secondary school buddy's birthday two weeks back, and the usual gang gathered together to have a birthday bash with him at Terminal ONE.

we bought cake from Secret Recipe, but the cake was made out of a combination of SIX different types... just so that everyone could have their prefered favour... and of course a bottle of Black Label was ordered to spice things up...

and at Terminal ONE, all birthday people get to have a shot of Flaming Lamborgini on-the-house... nope, not the car on fire...

but something that look like the above picture... :)

our birthday boy took up the comlimentary drink... and after 5 minutes... looked like this...

20 minutes later... BBLLUUUEEEKKK..... -_______-'

then got so wasted & KO-ed.... one of us (Ah Boon) had to drive his car and send him home, with another car following behind to fetch Ah Boon home... =.='''

it was a fun night.... :)

Imperial Duck...

Imperial Duck is another new chinese cuisine establishment launched by Lok Thian Restaurant. I went there twice with my parents, one time for breakfast and one time for lunch. Frankly speaking, the experience was pretty okay overall, with some flaws here and there...

the roasted pork tasted good, but the serving portion was so pathetic that even my 4 year old nephew could have finished it all by himself... totally not worth it...

pig's tongue... the texture was just nice... but again, the portion was a tad too small... wtf...

ordered the 1/4 roasted Peking Duck... and yeap, it's good, and the portion was reasonably big enough for the three of us...

like I said, Imperial Duck scores on the environment, and of course the Peking Duck, but I think the dishes served are slapped with a higher price tag with relatively small portion... totally not worth it (at least for me) because for the same amount of money that I were to spend there, I have plenty of choices...

Davidoff ONE...

a carton of duty free Davidoff ONE all the way from Hong Kong...
my initial choice was actually Davidoff Lights, but since there weren't any on sale, my colleague bought me this instead... many thanks still... :)

apart from that carton of Davidoff ONE, kari too bought back a few packs for me when he came back to Kuching 2 weeks back...

For the first few inhales, there are virtually no taste at all... wtf... and it burns very slowly. Overall, the taste is very bland... suites those who do not smoke much, but like to light up... and for once, Daniel finds smoking fun... cos got no taste one....  -______-'

however, there's always another way to fix the problem, which is by tearing off half the filter... and once it's done, the taste is way better... similar to typical Davidoff Lights... :)

*the filters of Davidoff ONE sticks have 2 parts, and I think the tobacco company purposely make it that way to please both smokers who do not like too much favour from their ciggies as well as those who prefer their ciggies to have a stronger taste by peeling one half of the filter...*

a good deed...

someone carelessly left his car key, together with the remote control on top of the urinal in the toilet of my office floor a few days back... and I almost took it into the office to ask around my colleagues whether any of them lost their car keys when a panicky guy came out from the lift and head straight towards the toilet obviously looking for his car keys, so I called him and gave him back his stuff... a relief guy he was after that...

I could understand his feelings completely as the same thing happened to me just a week+ ago. I went to Ipanema with Daniel at around 11pm, and only after downing half a pint of beer 20+ minutes later, and gone over to talk to some friends next door at Soho that I realized my car keys were not with me. I asked Daniel to help look for my car keys at Ipanema while I ran over to see whether my car was still there or not. To my delight, it was still there, so I walked slowly back to the club, searching carefuly for my car keys along the way until I saw someone picked it up from the two steps leading down towards Ipanema and Soho. I told that guy (got his name later - Colin Kho... thanks man...) that he had my keys and he gave it back to me straight.... I tell you no words could have described how relieve felt that time...

I think there's must be some connection between loosing your keys, getting them back, then helping another person got his/her keys back... a cycle or something like that... but I'm glad I could return the favour and be of help... :)

one helluva long weekend alcohol intoxication...

as I mentioned in my previous post that one of the boh-liaw clan - Kari was back in town for the long weekend... both Daniel and I brought him out drinking FOUR nights in a row, and eventually got him 'broken' by the time he flew back to Penang, with a bad sore throat and sound like Donald Duck... hehehehe....

we went to Ipanema on Friday night to open up the 15 year Balvanie that he brought back from his India business trip (luckily he went to Bangalore, not Mumbai...), and was joined by another 2 more good friends who were already there downing their 12 year Macallan, so the night turned into a Balvanie+Macallan mixing bash...

despite the drunkness, we still manage to take a compulsary boh-liaw clan groupshot...

before he got really wasted and disoriented, and start hugging the Balvanie bottle with the 'Kari Poonani' scribble [look carefully] that I wrote..... :)

lobster overdose... again... -____-'

another member of the boh-liaw clan - Kari, came back for the weekend, so together with Daniel and I, the three of us went to the Hilton Waterfront Cafe for dinner before heading for some alchohol intoxication session (4th day in a row)... ;)

food was great, but our main focus for the night is the lobsters... yea babeh!!

lobsters + grilled fish...

octopus, sushi, lemon chicken and duck...

and of course... more lobsters...
I think we took in more lobsters that the last time we were there on Anna's birthday...

goodbye health..... -______-'

rims..........

quite a lot of choice... but very normal stuff...

Daniel says it's nice... but I don't think it's that cool....

kindda like this one... until I saw it on a Perodua Myvi... -_____-''

this 10 spoke gun metal design is by far the one that I like the most.... : )

fire

It was during lunch time at the nearby kopitiam at our workplace that we heard the fire engine siren and saw a fire truck racing past. Then we notice smoke coming from behind the still under construction shopping mall/hotel at Jalan Bukit Mata. By the time we got back to our office on the seventh floor, what we saw were more thick smoke, and later we were told that SMB Kuching High was on fire...
