nice song...

was sitting at our usual hangout kopitiam yesterday night after a long and freakin' exhausting badminton session. anyway, was eating away my kueh-chap, together with some lok-lok when I saw this MTV being aired. VERY VERY nice song I should say, and I paid extra attention towards the end so that I know the title of the song - 不得不爱 by 潘玮柏 & 弦子.

reached home, straight away looked for it via Kazaa, and the song is now playing in my car... hehehehehe... talk about efficiency huh...

*for those who wish to download the song, just click on the chinese characters... it'll link you to baidu.com.

when I'm alone, or when I feel like being alone...

sometimes when I'm alone, or feel like being alone, some of the things that I'd do are:

get my ass into my car, drive around, with music blasting away... and usually I'd end up at

there's nothing more calming and soothing than sitting by the shore, letting the sea breeze blow the stress away... it also helps me to think... and clear up doubts at times...

or sank my ass into the chair of some coffee house, order an ice latte, and sit there for the next 1 or 2 hours watching the world go by... and of course puffing myself away... with a car magazine...

or I'd be at some shopping centres, walking aimlessly, browsing through shops after shops... and apparently bought something... like:

a Playstation 2 console... which cost me almost 1K with an additional memory card, joystick and the USB fan... knn!!!

looks like when I'm alone in the future... I'd have to stay at home and play PS2, as the purchase was unplanned, and I'm fucking broke... :(

a birthday card that I bought...

was browsing through this adult shop (what's the name ahh??) at Midvalley early this year when I came across this birthday card...

the card was self-made, with 3 match sticks, a ciggie and a sachet of condom tugged in a little yellow holder, with a message attached: "Emergency Pack - always keep it with you, use it upon Emergenccccccy!!!"... cool huh??

I find it quite unique, and since my buddy is gonna be 24 in 2 weeks' time, I bought the card for him, together with a Final Fantasy gas lighter as a gift, also as a thank you gesture for his accomodation, treats and ferrying of Shirley and I while we were in KL...

some plans for my ride...

my waja's current stock standard suspensions are giving way, as well as the right rear boost bar. besides, there are dozens of visible scratches on the body, including the horrendous scratch thanks to Yu Thian Service Co, as well as a small dent from a mild collision with a kancil parked roadside when I was reversing last week...

so there I was, thinking what should I do with my ride... I'm not considering buying a car at least for the next 5 years... as that would only add to my liability list, and make me poorer with something that depreciates faster then one could say "haha... I bough a new car liAW!!!"

watching MTV's Pimp My Ride really influenced me to pimp my own ride... and in the end, one of the modifications that crossed my mind was to get my ride a new set of waja bodykit with a EG9 styled spoiler (yup, gonna ditch the current one if I go for the bodykit). then, together with the bodykit, send it to the paint shop, and give it a new spanking pearl black paint job.

during that time, I'd fly over to KL for a holiday and shop for some goodies for my ride... a new set of adjustable suspensions or a good set of absorbers is on top of the list, followed by a pair of boost bars, maybe a pair of 6" Clif Design speakers, an additional Pioneer 12" sub and a kick ass amplifier...

after having the suspensions fixed to my new pearl black ride, I'd go scout for a new set of rims, most probably the same 16" or go for a 17" upgrade, but definitely something more aggressive looking, and with metallic gun-barrel colour. hmm... a pair of semi-bucket seats would have been cool if I have some extra cash left... wuahh... that would be so so gorgeous and sexy...

and also, in the next 2 - 3 years, I'd most probably swap my stock waja engine with an Evo 5 or Evo 6.5 4G63 powerplant... the estimated cost for the half-cut, together with worksmanship is roughly 10K, which is relatively cheaper compared to buying a new car... and with the engine upgrade, I'd have many cars smell my exhaust fumes, and eat my dust... hahahaha...

with good food, life's great...

Kuching is a food heaven... western food, chinese cuisine, local delights... you name it... there're everywhere, and they're good~~

while I was doin' my final year in Toowoomba, Queensland, other than missing my family and my car, I missed Kuching food dearly, typically laksa, BBQ fish (sting-ray), kolo-mee, Malaysian-styled chicken rice and kueh-chap just to name a few...

so, this entry of mine today is all about food... with pictures of course...

let's go with starters first... this is "Zheng" with kolo-mee kosong... notice the kolo-mee at the upper right corner?? yeap... this bowl consist of meat balls, "Char Siew" (BBQ pork), pig's spare-parts, salted vege, taugeh (beans sprout) and very nice soup to complement with...

laksa... typical breakfast choice of most Kuching people. check out those prawns... and believe me, this particular serving from Golden Arch is freaking spicy...

ahhh... belacan beehoon... the best of belacan beehon can be found at the Song Thian Hai market and behind the Sarawak Musuem. like the Hong Kong "chou tau fu" (stinky tofu), you can smell it from the parking space...

this picture was taken at one of the many stalls in the Kuching Festival 2005... if you look closely, there were steamed, friend & roasted chicken, "Siew Yok" (BBQ pork with fat & skin), "Char Siew" (BBQ pork), "Lap Chiong" (BBQ chinese style sausage), "Ngo Hiang" (rolled minced meat with other stuff)... phew~~ everything looks mouth watering and tempting... I ask you lahh... how to choose what you want?? in the end.. HAMPALANG-SAPU... hahahaha...

I know that some of you are already drooling and flooding your keyboards, but there are more to come... hehehehe...

these are taiwanese sausages, seasoned with different favours - original, spicy, satey...
knn these wicked sausages were virtually calling up to me: "we're very tasty!!! buy me!!! eat me!!!...." dem evil they were!!!

Siew Mai (steamed pork)... tasty huh?? the most famous Siew Mai stall is located at the Open Air market down town Kuching... you won't miss it, as it's usually crowded with people...

typical fish & chips... but this one is grilled to perfection... delicious I assure you... *slurp* (location: Sharing Planet)

medium done sirloin steak... my all time favourite... (location: The Junk)

nicely done chicken chop, covered with think mushroom gravy and smooth mashed potato & vege at the side... scrumptious!!! (location: Sidewalk)

and ultimately... what's better than having a glass of cold ice lemon tea with some ciggies after a heavy meal... right people???

staring blanks again...

after meeting my deadline about 2 weeks ago, my productivity in the office has been pratically zero. yeap... you read it correctly... zero as in 0, or "kosong" in Bahasa Malaysia. as my next deadline is due in about 7 weeks time, I still have about 1 week or so to laze around before having to at least start researching on the topic and write something up...

despite the zero productivity in the office, my time outside the office is much occupied, and routined in a way. badminton sessions, tuition sessions, supper/limteh sessions and my ultimate sleeping sessions, especially during my precious weekends. din't even spend much time on my Playstation 2, which I kindda regretted buying it in the first place... wasted me roughly 1K, including the games that I bought, but haven't play yet...

plus with the recent happenings, including my car in the workshop, extra repairs, routine maintenance, petrol hikes and all... I'm and have been dead broke and fucking Pok-Kai (PK) for the past 2 months... and that left me with quite alot of stuff to think about...

I'm turning 24 soon, and have been working since I graduated 4 years ago. however, my savings figure in my bank account speaks differently... it is in such a pathetic state that I felt embarrassed looking at it...

I know... something has to change... and it has to start from my spending habbits...
BUT it is always easier said then done... just look at how much I have spent on my car... sighh~~~~~~

a breakdown on the things that I spent on my ride...

bought a twin pack Dunhill Lights...

this is the second time I bought this twin pack Dunhill Lights, and I took some pictures of it. the twin pack Dunhill Lights is sold at RM12.00, so it's RM1.00 cheaper than buying 2 packs of Dunhill Lights seperately.

the box is dem huge man...

and there's a plastic frame in it that holds 2 packs of Dunhill Lights neatly in place...

the view behind my office cubicle...

after some rain a few days ago, the haze condition in Kuching has subsided, leaving the sky blue, and plenty of fresh for us... this is the city view behind my office cubicle...

yeap... my office is overlooking the golden triangle of Kuching, as well as the Sarawak River. ordering McD takeaways and having them delivered to the office would take less than 10 minutes...

this is the view from the right side of my cubicle. that place is the Top Spot Seafood heaven at the centre of Kuching, with Summerset Gateway, OCBC and OSK (from left to right) behind it.

this is how the building that I worked in for the past 2 years looked like from across the street...

and this is my cubicle:

I'm an Armored Core fan... hehehehe...

*note: in case you don't know, Armored Core is a Playstation 2 game...*

belacan fried clams...

it was raining heavily last night, but got invited to a belacan fried clams eating session by John and Jason... and was threatened that if Shirley and I did not show up, they would throw smelly clams into our houses...

so despite the rain, I drove all the way to pick Shirley up, and headed to the hawker centre. the belacan fried clams arrived after we ordered our drinks, and man... the portion was huge!!! asked how heavy was the clam, and John said he bought 2.5 kilograms of fresh clams... *I almost fainted*

*believe me, the portion was huge!!!*

the meat was dem juicy, and somewhat sweet (fresh wad...), soaked with the spicy-ness of the belacan... and it was simply un-rejectable... one after another we stuffed our tummies with clam meat, and half way through the session, Cornelius arrived. luckily he did, coz the four of us were almost full. in the end, this is how the dish looked like when we were done.

*wallahhh.... mission accomplished*

the haze situation in Kuching is not that good either...

I do not have a digital camera to snap the hazy condition in Kuching, but from the view in my office cubicle, which is overlooking the Sarawak River, I could tell that the condition is getting more serious from day to day, despite the Air Pollution Index (API) of Kuching being 76 as reported by the Department of Environment (DOE)...

I somewhat think that the API released by the DOE is not entirely accurate, and most probably those API figures has been reduced by another 100 - 200 unit before making the numbers public for us to see...

the reason behind my statement is that I have a friend working at management levels in the Natural Resource Environment Board (NREB) Kuching, and what he told me was that the government still doesn't wanna cause public panic over this issue, so they altered the figure to a lower level before actually releasing it to the public.

in 1997 when the whole of Sarawak was declared emergency, it was announced that the API was over 600, but in fact, the real API was almost reaching 1000... think about it...

my waja after the repair, + the extra scratch!!!

the front body work was fine, with above average paint job. however, the finishings weren't that refine, but I could live with it, coz already accident mahh.... what to do??? but, the thing that I could not tolerate is the extra scar those punk-ass morans at Yu Thian added to my rear side bumper, and refused to admit that it's their wrong doings... sommore had the balls to claim that it was there at the first place... really mai chee bai mother fucker jackasses.... knn!!!!

zero professionalism, zero responsibility... (Part 2)

last friday everning, I sent my car to my trusty workshop (VTech Service) to get the guys to check out on the annoying rattling sound coming from the engine bay. Left the car there for the night, as the noise was most likely to be heard when the car was started in the morning.

went over to see see look look my car the next evening. It turned out that those jerk-off morons at Yu Thian Service Co did not screw back the bolts for the 2 metal bars of the bumper which was inserted into the 2 slots in the car's structure underneath the engine block. THAT apparently led to the rattling noise when the engine was started. FUCK!!!!!!

Ah Ben (VTech's boss, also my gf's god-brother) was cursing Yu Thian Service Co like no tomorrow... saying that this kinda problem shouldn't have ever happened IF the workers/mechanics just had a little more professionalism and responsility.... which in this pathetic case, none was seen nor found...

Come-on lah... with the below list of problems and shits thrown to me after the car was supposed to have been "repaired".....

a deep scratch at the rear bumper, together with other new scratches around the body...
those assholes drained around 3 liters of transmission oil outta my gearbox, but did not refill it back, and gave me granmother-story excuses + refused to refund me...
did not to screw back the bolts for the 2 metal bars of my bumper, causing the rattling noise...
stinking mechanics working on my car, and dunno why my interior, upon delivery was smelling like dead fish + armpit sweat.... sommore with dirt patches on all seats + on the floor, front and back!!!! fuck I had to spray almost a bottle of air freshener into the interior, and leave the car doors open for a freaking whole day to get rid of the ordour....

Yu Thian Service Co truly deserves..... this award of - "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Lousy Piece of Shit & Fucked-Up Workshop of the Year".

frustration...

despite having my car back, it was litterally showered with problems here and there... starting from the most irritating one - rattling noise from the engine bay, to the buzzing sound coming from the dashboard from time to time, as well as the rear suspension + brake noise.... and counting..........

haven't got time to send it to my trusty workshop to get all those shits fixed, so I'm painstakingly bearing with all those crap by blasting my ICE to the max juz to drown any other annoying and shouln't-have-existed noises.... dammit!!!

zero professionalism, zero resposibility...

got my car back from the workshop last week... and here's the story...

when I reached the workshop to get my car... to my horror... there was a long scratch at the rear side bumper... it's not a slight scratch which could be diminished by wax coating ok... it's a fucking deep scratch most probably done by typical screwdrivers or workshop tools. I enquired the foreman, and he said something like "nothing I could do lehhh... maybe it was already there before it came in." WADDA FUCK!!??? you think I'm stupid ahh?? I know my car inside out like the back of my hand, and you tell me it's already there before it went it?? look at my car you already know that I take care of it one lahhh... knnccb!!!!!

despite the scratch, I signed the car out, and the moment I drove it, I felt that the transmission was kindda funny... as the gear would take a few seconds more before it shifted up, leaving the engine revving freely. still, I drove the car for another day before sending it to my trusty workshop (VBS Motor) to check out the transmission after work...

guess what was the reason... those pukimaks at Yu Thian (oh yea... forgot to tell you the stupid workshop's name... will get into details later) released my transmission oil, but never refill it back!!!! outta the 4 liter capacity, I was running with only 1 fucking liter of transmission oil.... the foreman at VBS told me that I was lucky that there's still some transmission oil left... otherwise, my gear box would surely rest in peace forever liaw. they filled up about 3 liters of transmission oil, and charged me 55 bucks. of course I wasn't gonna let go of this recklessness by those assholes at Yu Thian, so I called up the boss, told him that I wanna claim back those money. He told me to go back to the workshop the day after...

reached the workshop. boss was not in, so I told the foreman that his stupid jerk-off fuck-tards did not refill my transmission oil, and called the guy who drove my car from the spraying workshop to the HQ where I took delivery of the car. he confirmed the problem, so I demanded for my refund, but the foreman kep on insisting that they did not release my transmission oil and bla bla bla grandmother-makes-apple-pie story.

I was like: SO HOW????? where the blue farking hell did the 3 liters of transmission oil went to?? I drank it all ahh??? the problem was so farking clear - 3 liters of transmission oil went missing... so since you ppl were the asses that worked on my car, then it's your fault lah!!!!!

he sommore has the balls to say that I should have refilled the transmission oil at their workshop bla bla bla... its really an insult to my intelligence talking to these fuck-head morons.... I said: WTF??? you crazy ahh??? gear box already almost no oil still wanna drive to your stupid workshop to refill ah?? if kaput how??? you ganti issit??? no freaking way I was gonna wait another day and drive my car with 1 liter of transmission oil mahhh!!!! it was so obvious that you ppl screw up my car, and now you're giving me all those ridiculous excuses, and din't wanna refund the money that I spent on the extra transmission oil.

in the end, I just walked outta the fucking workshop, swearing that I'll spread their fucking lousy work ethics all around, especially to everyone that I know of in Kuching. it's not about the money that I spent on the oil... heck, 55 bucks for me is just one visit to coffee bean.... it's the lousy worksmanship, plus the irresponsible + unprofessional attitute that those fuckers showed which pissed me off...

for those who live in Kuching... never ever go to this workshop - YU THIAN SERVICE CO, located at Sungai Apong area to service/repair your car. if you're claiming damage repairs from your insurance company, avoid this workshop as well... and ask for any other panel workshops, as I believe this IS the lousiest one in Kuching.

PS: please help me spread the words about this workshop. if you're reading this, happens to live in Kuching, and so happens that you also have a blog, do link this entry to your site as well. let others know about it, so that this kindda shit do not happen them...

staring at the empty parking space...

last night, I was standing in the car porch lighting up a ciggie, and staring at the empty space that used to be occupied. outta nowhere, I suddenly felt that I missed my car... alot....... missed driving it around, missed tapau-ing other cars in it, missed the ICE + my woofer, missed giving it a bath, missed cleaning up the interior.... basically missed having it around.......

I really regretted throwing that overtaking stunt last week, which apparently crashed my car into the Pajero, and having it sent to the workshop for at least 3 weeks... not only that I have to rely on other ppl to move around and causing inconveniences to everyone, the 55% insurance ncb for the car was voided, and by next year, I'll have to pay 100% for the insurance... demmit...

I juz hope that everything will turn up okay soon, as I've been showered with bad luck and incidents recently... starting with maxis overcharging me on my bills, screwed up work place + all those stupid office issues mentioned before, extra spending on wheel allignment + balancing (which eventually went to waste after the accident... farkkk!!!), 4D & Toto numbers came out, but din't buy, or missed a digit, thin-wallet-syndrome due to overspending (don't ask me what I spent on, coz I can't recall!!) and ultimately this accident...

crashed my car...

happened on tuesday. was driving back home, overtook quite a few cars on the empty opposite lane when this old Pajero, outta no where made a right turn into the pottery shop. I was still stepping on the gas when she (yeaps, lady driver, but not pretty one lahhh ) made that turn, so apparently I din't have much time to react , and brake... I think I crashed into her Pajero at around 60+ km/h speed... I considered myself quite lucky for not sustaining any injury coz I din't strap on my seatbelt that time... but my waja, as a result, was a complete wreck

the lady was nice though, came down, asked me whether I was alright before looking at both damaged vehicles... her Pajero's bumper was dem farking strong man... coz there was only a slight dent on the side of the bumper. However, my car's condition was the total opposite... imagine the impact, and of course the different level of strength of both vehicles, one imported 4X4 Japan product, and one Malaysian product...

anyway, since my car was still drivable, both Allison (the lady's name) and I went over to the police station and made a police report. Called my dad to go over as well with the car's insurance policy and stuff. at the station, I coincidently met up with a towing agent who works for a workshop that happens to be the panel workshop of my car's insurance company, so eventually I just assigned him for the job, and he helped us out on the police report thingy, as well as dealing with the insurance claims (my wrong, so Allison will be claiming my insurance for her car's repair, and I'll also be claiming my insurance for the Waja's repair) and towing my car to the workshop. he claimed that he'll handle everything, and I'd only have to pay for the police summon of RM300, which apparently he also made some adjustments to only RM150.

went over to the workshop to snap some photos of my damaged machine after making a report to the insurance company yesterday. the adjuster (a professional who go assess your car's damage, and list down the stuff that are to be changed) was there as well. the damage was quite serious , and lotsa parts need to be changed - the bumper, spot lights, headlights, front grill, radiotor & mounting, engine fans, air-con condenser & piping, fuse box, battery, air intake and wirings... it's estimated that it'll take about 3 - 4 weeks before I could get my car back... so I guess I'll have to live with having other ppl fetching me up to & fro places...

interview...

got a call from HSBC yesterday asking whether I could make it for an interview for a marketing executive position (can't really recall the exact name). of course I said yes lahh... have been waiting for an opportunity like that for ages.... *happiee*

the interview, or should I say "casual chi-chat session" went through quite well I should say. kindda enjoyed talking to William and Loraine. I was surprised that despite knowing my near to zero experience in marketing/sales (remember they have my resume??), they offered me an interview. but I think I did okay on some marketing and sales questions. I was kindda frank with them on my intention of changing job, even as far as changing industry due to the horrendous working environment shit that the current company is throwing at me.

it was such a coincidence that right after your call asking me on the job application, yup, it's you Gerald, HSBC called me up for the interview... hehehehe... so if I get this job, I'll treat you go makan the next time you're back, or when I go over KL.... hahahahaha...

found it kindda funny and weird, as good stuff keep popping up on mee this particular week. first, my car's number came out in special prize on Saturday (I'm RM200 richer!!! ) in sportstoto. then, I was called up twice, one offering me an IT job in KL, the other one offering me an interview at HSBC. I think when you're in luck, you're in luck...hehehehe .

the other job offer was from Emerio Corp, KL. this guy called me up, asking me whether I would be interested to work as a Network Administrator. location is in Damansara, and expected salary is 2.5K, which did not really attracts me, as I'm already earning about the same here in Kuching (including my part time earnings, which I'm not gonna brag about here), so I politely declined the offer.

lets just hope that I'll get the HSBC job. then at least I would no longer see those annoying pricks, as well as work with jackasses that piss me off whenever they start opening their torn-pussy-mouths.
