the haze situation in Kuching is not that good either...

I do not have a digital camera to snap the hazy condition in Kuching, but from the view in my office cubicle, which is overlooking the Sarawak River, I could tell that the condition is getting more serious from day to day, despite the Air Pollution Index (API) of Kuching being 76 as reported by the Department of Environment (DOE)...

I somewhat think that the API released by the DOE is not entirely accurate, and most probably those API figures has been reduced by another 100 - 200 unit before making the numbers public for us to see...

the reason behind my statement is that I have a friend working at management levels in the Natural Resource Environment Board (NREB) Kuching, and what he told me was that the government still doesn't wanna cause public panic over this issue, so they altered the figure to a lower level before actually releasing it to the public.

in 1997 when the whole of Sarawak was declared emergency, it was announced that the API was over 600, but in fact, the real API was almost reaching 1000... think about it...
