grandma passed away......

my maternal grandmother passed away a couple of weeks ago...

her leaving us means that all my 4 paternal & maternal grandparents have left us to be with each other...

from relatives and friends...

relatives and friends paying grandma their respect...

the huge amount of 金银纸 folded for grandma...

food prepared and served for relatives and friends who came to the funeral...
the 三层肉, foo-chuk soup and curry chicken were seriously awesome... I couldn't even remember how many rounds I've had over the 2 days when I was in Lundu...

ceremony outside our shop before sending grandma off...

the view from on top of the hill, where grandma was put to rest beside grandpa...

*there's another post entry about grandma from my sister's blog*

rest in peace, grandma... you'll be missed...

Sibu Gawai road trip [food edition]

the food that we sampled during the trip was undeniably one of the best I've had... as Daniel and I were overwhelmed by the quality of the food served...

stopped by somewhere before Sarikei for lunch... wild boar meat, softshell turtle meat and some vege... pardon the half eaten state of the food... forgot to take photos when they arrived...

dinner@Sibu's YMCA... seriously huge mud prawns...

look at the size of the prawns... I'm not kidding man... the head alone was half the size of my palm...
-____-'

forgot the name of the fish... apparently we were told that it is the third most expensive fish in Sibu...

with good food, I owes happy...

oversized bee-hun... with chicken spare parts cooked with wine... *forgot the name d*

a compulsory group shot of the trio... with Sibu's landmark temple behind...

*next up, visit to a modern long house in Sibu Jaya... and it was one hell of a partaaaay...*

The Eatery @ Four Points Sheraton

As-X was back here in Kuching over the last weekend, but despite telling Daniel about it earlier on... the bugger forgot and booked a trip to Miri with his wife for some Jazz Festival... wtf... and will only be back on Sunday night... so As-X and I decided not to wait until then, and went for the BBQ Seafood Buffet on Saturday...

the variety of food on display for the daily buffet is easily the biggest amongst all the top hotel buffets in Kuching, but the quality is still somewhat to be improved. There is an entry by As-X on the details (negative points) of the buffet... so I'm not gonna blog too much on it here... just some pictures and some nice stuff rather...

we were seated beside the swimming pool... and surprisingly, even though it was full house that night, we were the only two person having our dinner outside...

satay, seafood omelette, roasted chicken, steam chicken, roasted duck... all very nice...

went for almost the same serving for the second round, but took some prawn tempuras...

the chicken rice with steamed chicken, roasted chicken and duck is teh good... I had two servings...

two idiots doing the same camwhore post... wtf...
-_____-'

the bill came to RM140.75 for two... not too bad lah...

my opinion: if they up the quality of the fresh oysters, salmon/tuna sashimis and hire enough waiters/waitresses to attend to diners' needs, then I'm sure The Eatery buffet would be pretty hard to beat for the mass array of cuisines served and price paid per person...
